Road and Highway Schemes
The following road schemes are specifically aimed at improving
highway capacity, and relate to new development or trunk roads,
within the Borough or on main roads leading to it.
Brockhampton Lane is closed to through traffic at its southern end approximately 83 metres north of its junction with Solent Road due to an experimental road closure that will run for 12 months.

Major road works in Waterlooville to create the main access to the Newlands Common major development area are now complete

Growth Point funding was made available to improve the street environment in Park Road North, Havant. Work was carried out to provide new railings and street lighting, as well as upgrading the footpaths and footbridge in Boys Brigade Gardens

The improvements are now complete having been opened on 18th October 2011. Work included introduction of traffic signal control onto the A3(M) and A27 off-slip roads at their junction with the roundabout, new lanes to increase the traffic capacity off the roundabout, an additional lane on the A3(M) south bound off-slip road and an additional east bound only lane on the link to the A27 junction. Significant improvements have been made to the footway / cycleway to create a shared route linking to the existing cycle network.

Somborne Drive has been comprehensively remodelled to improve the layout for all users of the road space
The Havant Tesco store reconstruction required the widening of Solent Road and various junction improvements. This was completed at the end of November 2009.
