STAUNTON LIVE! 2008 – free outdoor music events
The next free live event takes place this Sunday (10th August)
and its folk music with performances from State of Undress,
Tinderbox, Christi Andropolis & Dave Newey and Jez Cox.
Staunton’s annual live music event throughout August combines
the beautiful setting of Leigh Park Gardens, with a great line up
of live musical talent, face painting to keep the kids entertained
and a barbecue and refreshments available at the Coach House.
‘Country & Western’ is the musical theme for Sunday 17th
August. Get ready to dance to the sounds of Harrison Country, Muddy
Boots and the Texas Tornados. Express FM will be down to broadcast
the show.
The Tribute Finale on Sunday 24th August should see Staunton
Live! 2008 go out in style, with great music from The Indigo
Pilots, Saturday Night Beaver and Chinese Elvis. The Mayor of
Havant will also raise the Olympic flag in celebration of the
handover of the Olympics from Beijing and Horizon Leisure Trust
will be there to promote sport and leisure facilities in the
borough.
Staunton Live! is for pretty much anybody – looking to be
entertained! Music lovers, families, friends, line dancers and all
those in between are sure to enjoy at least one of the Staunton
Live! dates. It’s a surprising musical treat in the heart of the
Country Park. The best thing is it is all completely free (standard
admission does apply to the Farm and Gardens) there’s no need to
book either, so just come along, bring your friends and family and
have fun!
The event is supported by Havant Borough Council and Hampshire
County Council.
