Sandy Hopkins helps collect trolleysBack to the shop floor

A key principle underpinning the council's vision for a cleaner, safer, more prosperous borough is to provide high quality, affordable and accessible public services to our customers.

We want to improve our understanding of what it is like to deliver public services to our customers. The council's managers will be going back to the shop floor to support National Customer Services Week between 6 and 12 October 2008. They will be spending time, and working with, our many frontline services teams including the Beachlands patrol on Hayling Island, the Customer Service Centre, refuse collectors, street cleaners, pest control, parking services, grass verge cutters, parks maintenance and open spaces.

David Bridges, Head of Customer and Support Services said, "by working with the teams that provide services directly to the public, managers will be better placed to consider ways of making our levels of customer service even better."
