Olympic training camp

Congratulations to Hayling Island Sailing Club who have been successful in their bid to become a south east training camp for the next Olympics to be held in London. This is a significant achievement, as there were a limited number of sites chosen: 130 across the whole of the south east and 600 across the whole of the UK.

Help with your homeIntouch logo

The “In touch” Home Improvement Agency working on behalf of the council can help owner- occupiers and private tenants with problems that they may be having with their home. A registered charity, the agency assists people to remain in their own home in greater comfort, with security and independence.

Offering help and advice on home improvements, repairs and adaptations, the agency aims in particular to assist older, vulnerable, and disabled people and In touch staff can visit you in your own home to assess what help may be available.

Help could include assessments for welfare benefits, identifying repair problems, drawing up plans and a specification for the work, sending out the details of the work to contractors from our ‘preferred contractors’ list to get prices. We will ensure that the contractor starts the work on the agreed date and that the work is completed to an acceptable standard.

For further information on the service, or if you would like to book an appointment for a visit, please contact the in touch office on 023 8046 2444.

Welcome to Havant

Welcome to Havant BannerAs part of the Park Road Growth Point scheme, bright new ‘Welcome to Havant’ banners now adorn the new decorative lamp posts. Funded by a grant from central government, the banners enhance the main route through the town centre and add a nice touch to welcoming people to Havant Town.

Designed to last for several years, the banners can be temporarily replaced with banners to mark certain events, providing event organisers pay for all costs involved.
