Statement from Councillor Tony Briggs, Leader of Havant Borough
Council
Hampshire County Council Education Proposals
As more than one school in the borough may be affected by the
County’s proposals it would be inappropriate for Havant Borough
Council to take a view in support of any particular school at this
time.
Havant Borough Council has yet to evaluate Hampshire County
Council proposals and the impact those proposals might have on
individual schools and education within the borough.
The County is duty bound to carry out full and wide ranging
consultation before submitting their proposals to central
government for funding, it is through that process that parents,
teachers, local councillors and Havant Borough Council will have
the opportunity to voice their opinions and make representations
both to Hampshire County Council and Secretary of State for
Education.
