Public Transport Developments
Sustainable Travel Strategy
We're starting wok on our Sustainable Travel Strategy, which
should be ready for publication next year. In it, we'll be looking
at opportunities to enhance the public transport offering across
the Borough - better waiting facilities, more information, higher
frequencies. We'll be working with our partners in the public
transport sector - local bus, coach, train and ferry companies - to
develop ideas to be included in the Strategy. The Strategy will
include plans to promote walking and cycling as well.
But what do you think? With fuel prices at very
high levels, is this encouraging you to try public transport more?
What would need to be done to get you out of your car? If you use
public transport regularly already, what frustrates or annoys you
about it? Or what do you like about it?
Well now's your chance to let us know. We're not a Passenger
Transport Authority, so we can't (usually) directly provide or
support bus services. However there may be things we can do or
perhaps we can work with others, such as Hampshire County Council
who are the
PTA
and who also look after the roads, to improve the efficiency of the
local transport system.
Send us your ideas, observations or frustrations on this e-form.
We'll have a look and give you some (hopefully)
constructive feedback. You'll need to include your name in the
email, and an idea of where you live (full address not necesary),
so that if your idea finds its way into our Strategy you can be
properly credited.
