Update on Strike Action

Residents refuse (domestic waste) will be collected today (16 July) as normal. We will reassess the situation for tomorrow, but in the meantime we ask that residents whose refuse collections are due to take place on Thursday to put their bin out as normal.

As set out in contingency plans, residents who would usually have their recycling collected today (16 July) and on Thursday 17 July will have it collected in two weeks time. As this will then be a four week collection all recycling put out will be accepted.

Residents who use the council’s Garden, Clinical and Special waste collection services have been contacted directly to inform them of revised arrangements.

For other frontline services such as street cleansing and litter collection, priority will be given to shopping centres.
