Walking to Health is for anyone wishing to gently increase their activity levels whilst discovering the local area.
Walking to Health provides people with the opportunity to take part in short, safe, sociable walks within local communities. And best of all its free! Each walk lasts about an hour and they take part within Havant and the surrounding areas including Hayling Island, Waterlooville and Bedhampton.
There are 15 walks that take place throughout the week within the Borough of Havant, these are;
Meet at 10am outside the Bedhampton Tourist Information Office.
The Walking to Health scheme in Havant is currently recruiting for new volunteer walk leaders.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get active, meet new friends and to give something back to your local community.
The Havant Walking to Health scheme is currently looking for new walk leaders in the Leigh Park, Wecock and Bedhampton areas. Full training is provided and ongoing support is offered by the local co-ordinator.
Becoming a volunteer walk leader requires no more than one hour per week and brings fantastic health and social benefits.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer walk leader the next training session is scheduled for Friday 4th December 2009.

The Bedhampton walk on Thursday afternoons has been postponed due to lack of numbers. It is expected that the walk will re-launch on a Monday from the new year. Further details will follow.
Walk More Feel the Difference
These walks are free, short led walks in the Leigh Park, Wecock and Hayling Island areas, ideal for people starting to get active. Being active for 30 minutes on 5 or more days of the week can make a big difference to your health and well-being.
Leigh Park Short Walk
Starting at Leigh Park Community Centre, Dunsbury Way, Leigh Park,
Havant. Underfoot is mainly footpaths and parkland.
Every Tuesday morning at 10.30am.
Every Thursday afternoon at 2.00pm
Wecock Short Walk
Starting at Acorn Community Centre, Eagle Avenue, Wecock.
Underfoot is mainly footpaths and parkland.
