StreetSport family fun day
Goal scoring, majorettes, football, cricket and more! There are
loads to do for all the family at the StreetSport family funday on
Saturday 19 July from 11am.

Havant Park will be packed with lots of exciting activities to
encourage young people to enjoy life by living healthily, keeping
active, making new friends and learning new skills.
“For many young people sport can help to build self-confidence,
improve social skills and raise self-esteem as well as providing
the obvious health and fitness benefits,” says Lorna Ferguson,
StreetSport Co-ordinator.
On the day, StreetSport will also be receiving a cheque from the
Football Foundation for £100,941 following a successful funding
bid. The money will be used to help set up several after-school and
Saturday morning football clubs in selected secondary schools
across the borough. It will also help to expand the current
StreetSport summer programme.

Sponsored by Hermitage Housing Association and Havant Borough
Council, the StreetSport programme runs during school holidays.
Activities range from basketball and football to cheerleading and
tennis. All activities are free for anyone between the ages of
eight and 15.
Copies of the StreetSport summer programme will be available on
the day or for further information call the 023 9244 6021.
