Local election results

The Conservatives remain the biggest political group on Havant Borough Council after yesterday’s local government elections.

 

After the last of the results were announced shortly after 1am today, the Conservatives had 32 of the 38 seats.

 

A total of 55 candidates contested the 14 seats, one in each ward throughout the borough.

 

The Conservatives gained Warren Park ward from Labour and held the other 11 seats they were defending. The Lib Dems held the one seat they were defending.

 

The results now mean that the Conservatives have 32 seats, Labour three and Lib Dems three.

 

Before yesterday’s elections, the Conservatives had 31, Labour four and the Lib Dems three.

 

The overall turn-out at the polls was 32.23%.
