Community Safety
Making your borough a safer neighbourhood
Safer Neighbourhood Teams are being enhanced across the borough
to help reduce crime and improve the quality of life for
residents.

Each of the ten teams within the borough will be led by a Police
Sergeant and will include Police Constables, Police Community
Support Officers and Special Constables. This team will work
closely with the Community Safety Team at Havant Borough Council,
together with local councillors and other partners to tackle
ongoing problems of local concern.
From April 2008 residents will be able to contact all of the
teams via contact points and email addresses. These details will be
available on the Hampshire Constabulary website
(external site)>>
However, the Safer Neighbourhood Teams will not change the
current response made by the police for calls made to 999, 101 or
0845 0454545. Officers will also continue to patrol the
borough as they do normally.
Roaring reduction to crime
A lion will now be helping to promote community safety to young
people across the borough.
The yet to be named lion (pictured) will be attending schools
and local events to help create a commitment to prevent crime.
The Community Safety Team who look after the lion are running a
competition to find a name for their new team member.
If you are 12 years of age or under and have a suggestion for a
name, send it together with your own name, address, age, telephone
number and a few words to say why you chose the name to:
