Details:
The requirement to clearly display road names is a legal duty laid down on the council (or landowner(s) if the road is private) under the Public Health Act. The Borough Council provides nameplates to show the name of any street forming part of the public highway network, as well as footway names if appropriate. Use the details above or our online form to either request additional name plates to an existing street, or to report a missing, damaged or defaced existing plate.

Please note that developers of new housing estates are required to provide name plates for new streets on their developments to our specification.
