Proposals for Havant Residents' Parking
Scheme
The Council has recently surveyed the parking
in the areas of Havant quoted below on different days and at
specific times. Following the results of these surveys the
Council has the following proposals to try to alleviate the
problems the residents have
been experiencing. Letters and questionnaires have been
sent to all residents in the areas listed below:
Zone
HAB Bellair Road, Montgomery
Road, Connaught Road, Oaklands Road ,
Pine
Grove, Lymbourn Road.
Zone
HB Lymbourn Road
(Residents only).
Zone HCB
Grove Road, Orchard Road, South Street, Juniper
Square,
Slindon Gardens.
Zone
HD
Homewell (Residents only). At all times.
Zone
HE Elm Park Road
(Residents only).
The proposed hours of operation would be
Mon-Sat 8.00am - 6.00pm, except Zone HD.
Zones HAB and
HCB 2 hours limited waiting, no
return within 2 hours.
Permit holders exempt.
Where dropped kerbs fall within parking bays,
there are no proposals to protect them with yellow lines.
White access protection lines can be provided if required.
The current cost of a permit in other parts of
the borough is £30 for properties with no off-street parking.
Consideration may be given to a sliding scale of charges if more
than one permit is required or for properties with off-street
parking available.
Owing to limited space, residents of
Homewell will be limited to one permit per property.
Permits for visitors have not been considered
at this stage but the situation will be subject to review once the
uptake of residents' permits is known.
The charges in the town centre council-owned
car parks will be changed to allow all day parking.
Zone B permits will be valid in zones AB and
CB. However zones AB and CB permits will not be valid in Zone
B.

Exhibitions will also be held where you will
be able to view plans of the proposals and talk to Council Officers
on the following dates:
Friday 1 February
2008: Civic Offices, Committee Room
2. 3.00pm – 7.00pm.
Saturday 2 February 2008: Havant Arts
Centre, East Street, Havant. 10.30am – 2.30 pm.
In addition, the plans will be on display in
the foyer of the Civic Offices from Monday 21 January.
