Your Community Centre
Continuing the series on community centres in Serving You, this
edition features:-
The Acorn Centre in Wecock Farm
Opened by the Mayor of Havant in 2005, the Acorn Centre is set
in the heart of Wecock and is home to a wide range of activities
suitable for all the community.
Used by Squirrels Pre-School, Hampshire Youth Services and the
Over 50’s Lunch Club, the centre, situated in Eagle Avenue, also
runs a wide range of courses including IT, Creative Writing, Money
Management and dance classes.

The Aviary Café within the building is open to all visitors
between 10am and 2pm and is run by volunteers and students from
Highbury College. The students gain valuable skills to support them
in the qualification they are working towards, as well as gaining
valuable work experience at the same time.
The centre also has a launderette for members of the local
community to use, as well as four rooms of various sizes and a
large hall with a capacity to hold 350 people, which are available
to hire.
