From 5th April 2008, the new planning application system '1APP' has been adopted by every local planning authority in the country. This means that older application forms will no longer be accepted. Below you will find links to the new planning application forms along with guidance notes that can be used to help with completing the forms.

 

It is very important that you use the relevant checklist (see links below) to make sure you provide ALL the information relevant to your application.  Failure to include everything we require will result in the application being invalid, which will delay the eventual decision.

 

If you feel that certain information required under the checklists is not required, you must make this clear and state your reasons on the application form or in a covering letter.

You can also make a planning application and fee payment online (with the exception of application types 27 - Renewal of Planning Permission and 28 - Non-material Amendment). To use this service you will need to register with the Planning Portal and create a User Name and Password. You can also use the Portal's on-line applications service to purchase a site location plan to accompany your application.  Accompanying documents can be attached to online planning applications.

If you do not wish for your name and address and signature to be made available on the website please let us know in writing when submitting your application.

 

Please ensure you select the correct form for the type of planning you wish to apply for or your application may be deemed invalid.

 

We have provided Guidance Notes for each of the application types to help you fill them in correctly, as well as a Checklist of all the documents required for each application type to help you with the application process. There is an explanation of each document required and in what circumstances it should be submitted. Please make sure you read through both the Checklist and the Guide thoroughly - if you do not provide the right documents or do not fill in the application form correctly then your application may not be accepted.

 

Important note about drawings.

Please note - when submitting floor, elevation and roof plans, these should all include the scale, a scale bar,  key dimensions and original page size.  If these are not included the application may not be accepted.

 

Where possible plans should be submitted/produced for A3 size.

Householder Applications

These forms are for householders who wish to seek permission for an extension, conservatory, porch, dormer windows, garage, outbuilding, walls, and alterations to access. These forms cannot be used for flats or non-residential premises.

Note - new fees for Extension to Time Limit and Non-material Change applications came into force on Friday 26 February 2010.

 

Not included on this sheet is the fee for making a High Hedges complaint. This is currently set at £270.00.
