What is StreetSport?
A school holiday, open access sports and arts project.
StreetSport activities run during the school holiday's
providing diversionary activities for young people, eight to 15
years of age. All activities are completely free of charge
and take place in local parks, schools and community
centre's across the borough of Havant.
How do I join in?
StreetSport works on a 'turn up and play' basis. All you need to
do is complete a simple registration form on arrival. This form has
name, address and emergency contact details and has to be completed
either by the young person or their responsible adult,
'no form no play'
Please note: Because StreetSport is open access, young people
are free to come and go as they please, coaches and session leaders
are not responsible for young people if they choose to leave a
session before the end.

Activities available
StreetSport offer a wide range of sport and act activities to
suit everybody, boys and girls, of all abilities. Some of
the activities available are:

Skateboarding/BMXing
Arts
Circus Skills
Assorted Dance sessions
(Hip Hop, Brakedance, StreetDance etc.)
Assorted Art sessions

Aims of StreetSport
- To engage young people from across all areas of the
borough of Havant by providing a range of locally based sport and
arts activities for them to get involved in creating positive
diversionary activities.
- To Improve their physical, social, creative, sporting and
artistic skills and provide a route into sustained and regular
sport, creativity and healthy living.
- To build self esteem.
- To positively impact on each area within the borough in terms
of cohesion, building a sense of community, bringing estates
together, developing community safety and capacity.
- To ensure local facilities such as parks and community centres
are utilised through the provision of high quality, organised
activities.
- To create a brand that our target age range can identify with,
and use it to increase attendance at all events.
'Kick Start' Football in the Community

£100,000 grant boosts StreetSport
programme
Young people in Havant are set to benefit from
a £100,000 Football Foundation grant after StreetSport
submitted a successful funding bid.
Part of the £100,941 award – which will be
phased over the next three years - will be used as start up costs
for several term-time after school football clubs across the
borough. This will also provide funding for young people to take
football coaching qualifications.The rest will go towards expanding
the current StreetSport holiday programme.
