Havant Borough Townscape, Landscape and Seascape Character Assessment
Havant Borough Council, jointly with Hampshire County Council and the Countryside Agency, appointed consultants to undertake an integrated landscape character assessment of the borough. This study is part of an initiative to foster a better understanding of the variety of historic, landscape, ecological, social, economic and cultural factors that have created the distinctive character of Havant Borough. Landscape Sensitivity Study
A report on the relative sensitivity of 15 landscape character areas outside of the urban areas of Havant mainland and Hayling Island. February 2007
Formation of Strategic and Local Gaps
The report contains an analysis of the landscape character of the proposed strategic and local gaps in the Borough, their function, selection criteria and boundaries. Potential development sites are also identified within the gaps and their suitability for development evaluated.
Policy framework for Gaps
This December 2008 Policy Framework sets out criteria to guide LDFs in designating Gaps and also identifies the location of cross-boundary Gaps. The aim is to ensure a consistent approach to Gap designation across South Hampshire.
