Appropriate Assessment
A Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) must be applied to
all Local Development Documents in England and Wales. The HRA aims
to assess the potential effects of a land use plan against the
conservation objectives of any sites designated for their nature
conservation importance as part of a system known collectively as
the Natura 2000 network of European sites.
Havant Borough Council has
commissioned consultants to undertake a Habitat Reguations
Assessment of the Core Strategy Preferred Options. The initial
Screening Report and appendices is available to download
below. The Screening Report assesses the likely impacts of the 17
proposed policies in the Core Strategy Preferred Options both
individually and in combination on local Natura 2000
sites.
