Keep Warm and Well this Winter
When it comes to rising fuel costs, many people are feeling the
pinch – and the cold. If you are not heating your home
adequately, you could be putting yourself at risk of
cold-related illnesses like pneumonia and making existing
conditions worse.
Top tips for keeping warm
1) Make sure your house is cold weather ready.
Is your heating system in good working order? For those on
qualifying benefits, the Government's WarmFront programme can
provide up to £2700 towards the cost of a new central heating
system and insulation. Call 0800 316 6019.
2) For those not on benefits, your utility provider may
have discounted insulation offers. For independent advice,
please contact your Energy Efficiency Advice Centre on 0800 512

degrees centigrade in the rooms you stay in for most of the
day. The Council has free easy to read thermometers if you
