Evidence base studies

The policies prepared by a local planning authority should be founded on a thorough understanding of the needs, opportunities and constraints of their area.  The evidence base is critical to the preparation of Development Plan Documents ( DPD ). The evidence bases will be relied upon when testing the soundness of DPD s at independent examination.

 

A Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) must be applied to all Local Development Documents in England and Wales. View Screening Statements for the LDF here.
 
The Employment Land Review is a study dealing with the demand and supply of employment land. Its purpose is to identify a portfolio of sites used by business across the borough.
 
Infrastructure comprises the framework of services and facilities which are essential for the quality of life. It is important that new development is co-ordinated with the infrastructure it requires.
 
The Landscape evidence base includes the Havant Borough Townscape, Landscape and Seascape Character Assessment, the Landscape Sensitivity Study and the Gaps Study.

An assessment of the amount of land which is available for housing development within the Borough.
 
Background paper including information on the tourism economy in Havant Borough.
