Workshop with community groups - 16th October 2007

LDF workshop Oct 2007 A workshop for Residents Associations and Community Boards was held on the 16 October 2007 to provide an update of the Core Strategy and where the Planning Policy team are with the Local Development Framework process.

 

Community groups were asked to identify infrastructure requirements associated with development that will take place over the next 20 years and prioritise their top three local and borough-wide infrastructure requirements. The priorities identified for each area are indicated with an asterisk (*).   

 

WATERLOOVILLE AREA

 

ECONOMIC

Local

  • More consultation on plans for town centre (taking place in town centre)
  • Linkages to the train station
  • Marketing campaign using MDA to attract new businesses/shops

Borough-wide

  • Address communication issue so public are more aware of work done by HBC to promote Borough*
  • 'Hindhead' effect

ENVIRONMENT

Local

  • Funding for local environmental groups

Borough-wide

  • Promote local environmental groups
  • Renewable energy solutions
  • Knowledge, understanding,use, apply targets
  • Monitoring light pollution/prevention
  • Unnecessary street clutter

TRANSPORT

Local

  • New or significant improvements to roads around MDA and west-east links*
  • Review of how police approach traffic calming

Borough-wide

  • New or significant improvements to roads around MDA and west-east links
  • Linkage between Waterlooville and Havant by public transport

SOCIAL

Local

  • Community centre (not just a hall - Pubrook/Widley)
  • Indoor youth facilities*
  • Investment in existing facilities for Youth, Elderly (indoor)*

  • Play facilities (open pitches/MUGA), larger facilities
