Becoming a Havant Borough Councillor

Have you ever felt you would have done something differently to deliver a particular council service?

Have you ever felt that your views are not being represented when the council makes decisions?

Have you ever thought of being a councillor?

The local community needs local councillors to represent them and speak on their behalf. Would you be interested in standing for election and playing a role in the services provided by Havant Borough Council?

Each year the council holds local elections to elect representatives from all walks of life to become councillors. As a councillor you would be involved in complex decision making, leading the council within the community and ensuring quality and value for money services.

A full article on the roles and responsibilities of being a councillor and how to go about standing for election will appear in the Spring edition of Serving You.

However, if you would like more information before March 2008 on becoming a councillor, please contact Lee Abraham on 023 9244 6230 or email the Democratic Services Team Leader
