1App is a step closer
Following previous articles in Serving You on the new National
Standard Planning Application Form or
1APP
as it
will be known, the date for introduction has been delayed by the
government until 6th April 2008. This is to give Local Planning
Authorities adequate time to get
IT
and administrative processes in
place.

This means, the government will make it easier to make planning
applications from 6 April 2008 by introducing a single set of
standard forms across the whole country
1APP
will
replace forms previously used for:
- Householder applications
- Full planning permission
- Outline planning permission, including approval of reserved
matters
- Listed building consent
- Conservation area consent
- Advertisement consent
- Tree works (including trees protected by a
TPO
and trees in a conservation
area)
- Certificate of lawfulness of existing and proposed use or
development.
Building Control and Minerals applications are not included in
the current implementation of
1APP
.
The Planning Portal Online Applications service
There will still be an option to complete and submit paper
copies of an application form but there will be distinct advantages
to be gained by completing the form on the planning portal by
following this link (external site)>> The
intelligent nature of the Planning Portal forms, asking only
questions relevant to the applicant, will make them quicker and
easier to complete.
