Christmas in the borough
Santa Claus is coming to town…..
As the festive season draws closer the borough will be
celebrating in a traditional style with lights, trees and of course
Father Christmas.

Havant Business Group and the AGORA Project

tree decorations in Havant Park. The Sound of Steel band will be
providing musical merriment at 3pm in Market Parade whilst children
and adults prepare to parade with illuminated lanterns through the
town centre at 4pm.
A traditional carol service will then take place in the Meridian
Centre at 4.30pm after which Jack Frosts will then entertain in the
town centre, until the Mayor officially switches on the lights at
5.25pm. This will then be followed by a spectacular firework
display at 5.30pm in Havant Park.
There will be more fun to be had every Saturday between 8th and
22nd December. Festive entertainment will take place in the
pedestrian precinct in West Street and the Meridian Shopping
Centre, to put you in a seasonal frame of mind. All details are
listed in the “What’s On”
From 17th to 22nd December the Meridian Shopping Centre is open
every night until 8pm.

Christmas cheer at Waterlooville
A pantomime themed fancy dress parade will be the reason for
cheer on Saturday 22nd December when the Mayor of Havant joins in to judge the best
costume at 11am. Accompanied by carol singers and the Sounds of
Steel band the day is set to go with a cheerful swing.

The fun will not end there, as every Saturday leading up to
Christmas a vintage fire engine will be in Waterlooville Precinct
playing festive music to shoppers with a bouncy castle available
for children to play on.
Santa's Grotto at Greywell
Leigh Park Neighbourhood Forum, supported by Havant Borough
Council and Greywell Shopping Centre, will be celebrating the
festive season this year with Santa's Grotto in the Greywell
Shopping precinct.
The opening of the grotto will take place on Friday 7th December
when Santa is joined by the Mayor of Havant, Cllr Vic Pierce Jones, together
with local schools, churches and local groups singing carols from
3pm.
Santa will be walking around the precinct meeting everyone and
finding out their Christmas wishes before his festive grotto opens
at 4pm. During the opening a nativity scene with live animals will
be on show.
The grotto will then be open from Thursdays to Saturdays at
various times. All money raised from the grotto will support other
events in Leigh Park such as the carnival.
