Design Award Scheme
11 entries were received for Havant Borough Council’s biennial
Design Award Scheme
2007.
Those shortlisted were visited by the judging panel made up of
leading local architects, the Chief Executive of the Solent Centre
for Architecture and representatives of Havant Borough Council.
Three projects were commended as follows:
Highly Commended - Springwell, Havant

Commended - A3 Bus
Priority Project, Waterlooville

Commended - Havant Bus Station
The Design Award Scheme was first introduced in 1987 to
encourage a high standard of building design within the borough, in
the belief that good examples should be brought to the attention of
developers, designers and in particular the general public.
The type of projects eligible for consideration include not only
new buildings, but also extensions to existing buildings,
conservation or restoration works, landscaping schemes (urban or
rural) and shop fronts that have been completed during the
preceding three calendar years.
