Walking to health
There’s no doubt about it, walking is good for you. It’s good
for your heart, your lungs, the muscle and bone growth of your
children and it’s good for your feeling of wellbeing, not to
mention a really sociable way to exercise and meet new people.

There are so many beautiful, open spaces in the borough and
walking is an ideal way to discover and enjoy them. The Walking to Health (external link)
scheme has found a new home with Havant Borough Council and
includes guided walks on the beaches in Hayling Island, the
woodland in Emsworth and Waterlooville and into Havant Thicket from
Warren Park.
Regular walks last approximately an hour and have trained
volunteer walk leaders to encourage a safe exercise environment.
All walks are free and everyone is welcome, although children must
be accompanied.
If you would like more information about the walks or to receive
a walk programme please contact Lorraine Gregory on 023 9244 6378
or email the Health
Development Officer
