Enjoyed by thousands
Once again, over three days in September, the picturesque
historic fishing village of Emsworth was the setting for the
region’s leading annual food festival.
Organised by local volunteers, the Emsworth Food Festival again
attracted thousands of visitors to enjoy tasting and purchasing a
wide range of food and drinks offered by over 120 producers. An
event no food lover could fail to enjoy!

As always, this free festival provided excellent entertainment
and this year introduced a themed village featuring a real ale
marquee and an education centre, The Sticky Spoon. Demonstrations
by celebrity chef, Lesley Waters also proved a popular
attraction.
Havant Borough Council supports the Emsworth Food Festival by
providing expert advice on matters such as food hygiene, health
& safety (risk assessment), access and signage, as well as by
arranging additional street cleaning over the festival weekend.
The feedback from visitors and locals is always very positive,
although some residents now feel the Emsworth Food Festival is too
large and are calling for it to be reduced in size or moved
elsewhere. The organising committee have held a public meeting to
hear the views of everyone prior to planning any future event for
next year.
