Emergency Response Plan
The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 requires the Council, as a
'Category 1 Responder', to have a Plan in place to enable it to
meet its stautory duties in emergency situations.
The Borough Council's Emergency Response Plan details (in
generic terms) how the Council and its partners will respond in an
emergency incident. The Plan is based on the nationally adopted
integrated emergency management principles of a 3-tier response:
Gold (Strategic), Silver (Tactical) and Bronze (Operational).
The Plan is deliberately non-specific to particular situations,
so that the responses to various kinds of emergencies can all be
addressed by the single Plan. The Plan is reviewed annually and
rehearsed regularly.
