Air Quality: Progress Reporting
Progress Reports form an integral part of the
Local Air Quality Management system, providing detailed assessment
of local air quality monitoring results and an update in new
developments or industry with the potential to influence air
quality either directly or indirectly.
These reports also provide an update on policy
changes with the potential to influence local air quality, and an
overview of progress with projects aimed at securing environmental
improvements, particularly where they are targeting air quality
issues.
The reporting process typically includes a
detailed road traffic modelling study, examining pollutants
identified in the
USA
process to be close
to their respective National Air Quality Strategy (
NAQS
) objective.
In recent years, Progress Reporting has
concentrated on the distribution of Nitrogen Oxides (
NOx
), specifically in the form
of Nitrogen Dioxide (
NO2
)
Readers should refer to the Updating & Screening
Assessment Pages for details of other
NAQS
Pollutants.
