Changes to concessionary bus fares

You may be aware that since 1 April 2006, anyone in England over the age of 60 is guaranteed free off-peak local bus travel within the local authority area they live.

But things are set to change, as from April 2008, the Concessionary Travel Bill will implement the Chancellor's announcements in the 2006 Budget that anyone aged 60 and over and disabled people in England will get free off-peak travel on all local buses anywhere in England, and not just within the borough.
