1App is a step closer
Please note that since this article was written and the hard
copy version of Serving You was printed, central government has
notified us of the following delay.
"On 8th August 2007, the Communities and Local Government
announced that the compulsory introduction of the
1APP
National
Planning Application Form will be delayed until 6 April 2008 in
order to give Local Planning Authorities adequate time to get IT
and administrative processes in place".
From 1st October 2007, the government will make applying for
planning permission easier for applicants by introducing a single
set of standard forms across England.
The National Standard Planning Application Form or
1APP
as it
will be known will replace most types of planning applications and
will help to deliver greater transparency, consistency and
efficiency in the planning system.
1APP
will
replace forms previously used for:
Householder applications
Full planning permission
Outline planning permission, including approval of reserved
matters
Listed building consent
Conservation area consent
Advertisement consent
Tree works (including trees protected by a
TPO
and trees in a conservation
area) – from April 2008
Certificate of lawfulness of existing and proposed use or
development.
However, Building Control and Minerals applications are not
included in the current implementation of
1APP
.
The Planning Portal Online Applications service
There will still be an option to complete and submit paper
copies of an application form but there will be distinct advantages
to be gained by completing the form online at the planning
portal. The intelligent nature of the Planning Portal forms,
asking only questions relevant to the applicant, will make them
quicker and easier to complete.
Havant Borough Council will be introducing
1App
during
the period of August – October 2007.
