3.0 Sub-regional planning context
Havant has a significant contribution to the
New Growth Point being promoted by the Partnership for Urban South
Hampshire (
PUSH
). In supporting
PUSH
the
Government recognises the ambitions for growth. In addition to
planning 80,000 new dwellings and 2 million sq.m. of employment
floorspace, one of these ambitions is clearly to provide the
critical infrastructure to overcome deficits and provide for the
needs which arise. For example, this will involve preparing an
Integrated Management Plan which will be used as a basis for
identifying the extent and location of growth so that impacts can
be managed and the infrastructure provided. Providing the
infrastructure will depend on a range of public and private
funding, including developer contributions.
