The National Cycle Network
The National Cycle Network (
NCN
) is an important means of
delivering the National Cycle Strategy. This seeks to increase the
amount of cycling by the provision of extra cycling-friendly
features such as cycle lanes, dedicated cycle paths and tracks,
clear signage and links with other travel modes. The
NCN
's construction is being
co-ordinated by Sustrans, a cycling charity. The

The Borough sits at an important junction in the
NCN
, with two routes meeting in
Havant town centre - NCN2,
the 'South Coast Route' from Kent to Cornwall via Brighton,
Chichester, Havant, Portsmouth, Southampton, Dorchester and Exeter;
and NCN22
from the outskirts of London, via Guildford, Petersfied, Havant,
Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight to the New Forest.
