Housing
| The
Council aims to create new affordable housing across Havant so that
a wide range of housing needs can be met.
This will be achieved by balancing and encouraging the creation
of an appropriate mix of homes and tenure types on all new housing
developments. The details of this policy are explained in
the Councils Housing Strategy 2005 –
2010 (PDF 772kb) “Building communities : Meeting
Needs”
Up to date information regarding the current housing market in
Havant and the wider sub-regional area covered by the Partnership
for Urban South Hampshire (PUSH), can be found in the PUSH Annual Monitoring
report 2008 (PDF 2MB) compiled by consultants DTZ
However, the Council cannot meet all the affordable housing
plans alone and works closely with a wide variety of other people
and organisations to enable the development of an increased supply
of affordable housing. These include local housing developers, the
Partnership in Urban South Hampshire ( PUSH )http://www.push.gov.uk/ , Hampshire
County Council, http://www.hants.gov.uk/ and
the housing corporation, http://www.housingcorp.gov.uk/ and
local housing associations.
