Staunton Live!
Havant Borough Council has worked in partnership with Staunton
Country Park for several years to produce Staunton Live! - an
annual summer programme of free family music events in Leigh Park
Gardens. This event combines the beautiful setting of Leigh
Park Gardens, with a great line up of live musical talent, face
painting, a barbecue and refreshments
This year saw Staunton Live! 2008 go out in style, with great
music from The Indigo Pilots, Saturday Night Beaver and Chinese
Elvis. The Mayor of Havant raised the Olympic flag in celebration
of the handover of the Olympics from Beijing and Horizon Leisure
Trust was there to promote sport and leisure facilities in the
borough.

literary menus, a Book Fair, a Book Quiz - and a poet in a

This annual event transforms Hayling Island during
festival fortnight in August. Scarecrow Festivals are held in
a number of small towns and villages across the UK and are a fun
way to involve the community and also to provide some stimulus to
local tourism.
The Hayling Island Scarecrow Festival was set up to provide
more activities which could involve all sections of the community,
followings an assessment by the Hayling Market Town Initiative
(known as Hayling’s BEST) and was recently nominated for a
South-East region Market Town Awards.
The Emsworth Food Festival has been recently redesigned to
reflect it's growing popularity. It has transformed from three
days of a weekend in September each year to the Emsworth Festival
Markets - four smaller events throughout the year. The
festival markets will have up to 40 stalls selling goods in South
Street car park.
The first festival market is on Sunday 14th December
2009 and will have a Christmas theme.
