Denmead Operatic Society
Denmead Operatic Society began nearly eighty years ago in what
was then the village of Denmead. Both before and immediately after
the war it staged plays, concerts and operettas, the works of
Gilbert and Sullivan being its main area of expertise. In the
twenty-first century we have taken on the challenge of the
blockbuster musicals, recently performing such favourite shows as
Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls and have
just completed a successful run of Hello Dolly.
Shows like these need a performance venue with
both stage and auditorium space, and good backstage facilities. We
are delighted that we can now stage our productions at
Park Community School -- it ticks all these boxes and we get
great support from the community staff there.
We are looking for new members to take part
in our 2012 show Titanic -- the Musical as we
will need a great many passengers and crew! If the idea of
taking part appeals to you,get in touch with us at
eleanorann.dentsmith@ntlworld.com
or phone 01329 310849.
