Shared Management Structure for Havant Borough Council
and East Hampshire District Council
In a move that will save around half a million
pounds, a shared management team for Havant Borough Council (HBC)
and East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) has been introduced.
Following the appointment of Sandy Hopkins as
joint Chief Executive, the first in Hampshire, of both authorities
in October 2009, councillors have been keen to continue to share
expertise and savings while providing a high level of service for
all residents.
Councillors approved the business case put
forward by the Chief Executive for a shared management team, in
June 2010.
The new team took up its position in October
2010 and consists of five Executive Heads reporting to two
Executive Directors. This is a reduction in senior management from
15 to 7 positions.
