Preferred Options (Spring 2008)
A Preferred Options document was prepared
taking into consideration the comments which were raised at
the Issues and Options consultations. The document explains
the different options which have been considered and the reason for
selecting the Preferred Option.
The Council held a consultation in Spring
2008 (second stage). Shortly after this time the government
revised the guidance and regulations on LDF production. As a result
the Council will be producing a further Draft Core Strategy
(consultation expected in June 2009) and following consultation on
this document a final 'pre-submission' Core Strategy will be
produced. Further details on the Core Strategy timetable can be
found on the agreed
Local Development Scheme.
This sets out the Council's overall position on how development will be distributed around the borough. It also includes 17 policies which will eventually replace parts of the Local Plan and will be used when determining planning applications.
The Sustainability Appraisal assess the 17 polices of the Core Strategy against social, environmental and economic criteria.
