History of SCI Preparation
Pre-submission consultation (Regulation 25)
Before drafting the
SCI
, the Council
undertook a period of informal consultation to gather some initial
feedback from the community about their involvement in the planning
process. The consultation period took place in Spring
2005.
Pre-submission public participation (Regulation 26)
A draft
SCI
was then
prepared and was published for consultation during July and
September 2005. The document was revised to take account of
the comments raised during the consultation.
Submission to the Secretary of State (Regulation 28)
The document and a statement of consultation
were then submitted to the Secretary of State in January 2006
for independent examination. At the same time, the
Council undertook a final period of statutory
consultation between 20 January 2006 and 3 March 2006.
All representations received were sent to the Secretary of
State. The submitted version of the SCI, the statement of
consultation and the representations received during the final
