What is an allotment?

An allotment is a plot of land let by the Council for cultivation purposes.

How much does it cost to rent an allotment?

For one square metre, the cost is 21p per year (although this is doubled for tenants who live outside the Borough's boundaries). This is revised on the 1st January every year.

The average plot is 126m2, which works out at a payment of £26.46 per year (£52.92 if you live outside the Borough). You can either pay your total bill in full or break it down into quarterly payments.

Are there any discounts?

The Council does not offer discounted prices.

How can I make a payment for my allotment?

Once you have received your invoice, you can either send us a cheque for the full amount (payable to Havant Borough Council), or visit the Civic Offices' Cashiers desk from 9am to 4.30 pm. If you would like to make your payments quarterly, please contact Resource Services on (023) 9244 6214.

Where are the Council's allotments?

We have various allotment sites throughout the Borough. To find out which one is your nearest, call Lin Stroud on (023) 9244 6425, or send an e-mail.
