Hayling Island Community Centre Association...

 ...serving the Hayling community

Welcome to the Hayling Island Community Centre (HICCA) web site

The Community Centre was built in 1981, and is based in the very heart of the Island, on the edge of West Town Shopping Centre and within the pleasant surroundings of Hayling Park. It supports and provides for community activities on Hayling Island and attracts 2 - 3 thousand visitors each week.

Our main hall, function rooms and bar are all available to hire at competitive rates for any type of function. Our opening hours are 9am - 10pm weekly. Our weekend opening hours vary according to what functions we have on, but the facilities are generally available for hire between 9am - 11.30pm on Saturday, and 9am - 3pm on Sunday.

Please contact us for further information about the Centre, including how you yourself could become a steward and help run this important feature of the community.

A BIG Thank you
Our tabletop sale last month raised almost £400, and we are very grateful to everyone who supported the event.

November and December Events
We have Wrestling shows and two disco-bounces to squeeze in before Christmas. Adults can take their pick from a variety of events planned, such as the Christmas Choir Concerts, the Lions Murder Mystery dinner, a charity Quiz and Auction, or the Yummy Mummy pamper evening.

Lottery Scheme
There are a few spaces left in the Centre's lottery scheme for anyone who maybe interested in joining in. Please call into the office and select your lucky number if you would like to take part.

Scarecrow Festival

Can you help us?

We are in desperate need of some volunteers to help with stewarding at the Centre, especially at the weekends.

Bottle Tops, Mobile Phones and Stamps
We are still collecting milk bottle tops (blue, red or green tops only please), stamps and mobile phones. The phones are diverted from landfill sites and recycled, and the Centre will receive £3 for each one. There is a collection point at reception, and we would be very grateful for your donations.

Lost Property
We have a collection of lost property - clothing, keys and jewellery. We keep items for three months before giving them to charity. If you or anyone you know has lost anything in the park or the Centre please call in.

Old Mobile Phones Wanted
We are also still collecting unwanted mobile phones of any age or condition, so if Father Christmas was good enough to bring you a new one last year, please think of us when disposing of your old one!

Help The Centre and Become a Steward
We are always in need of volunteers who could spare a couple of hours where possible. Read More >>

No Smoking Policy
To All Our Customers
Please note that with effect from 1st September 2006, the Centre will be operating and enforcing a complete ban on smoking within the building. Those wishing to smoke are welcome to use the sheltered area outside.
Thank you.
