The Council will undertake Sustainability Appraisals for all
Development Plan Documents. These will ensure that the social,
economic and environmental impact of emerging plans is considered
as an integral part of the plan-making process.
The Council has prepared Sustainability Appraisals

the Havant Town Centre Urban Design Framework and Leigh Park
Strategic Framework

s. For the Core
Strategy and subsequent
LDF
documents, a Scoping
Report has been prepared which describes the key sustainability
issues for Havant as well as identifying objectives to assist in
preparing the documents.
The Scoping Report has been prepared with the assistance
of Havant Community Partnership and the four statutory
consultees (English Nature, the Countryside Agency (now merged
within 'Natural England'), English Heritage and the
Environment Agency). This included a formal consultation
period which closed on 17 July 2006. Responses to this
consultation have resulted in amendments to the Scoping Report
which are included in the February 2007 version.
A

produced for the Issues and Options for the Core Strategy and the
Preferred Options. A technical summary of each of these
SA
s is also
available.
An initial
SA
was also produced for the Allocations
DPD
Issues and Options stage
including an initial assessment for each of the potential
site options.
More recently a
SA
has been produced on the the
draft Core Strategy (2009).
