Saved Policies of the Havant Borough District-Wide Local Plan

The Havant Borough District-Wide Local Plan (HBDWLP) was adopted on 30 September 2005. However, due to implications of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 this plan was only valid until the 30 September 2008 (the point at which it would be 3 years old). Government protocol allowed for certain policies to be saved for continued use beyond the end of September 2008. As a result the saved policies from the HBDWLP now form part of the Local Development Framework ( LDF )

Important Information March 2011

  • Only a few saved policies from the HBDWLP now apply and users should therefore refer to the accompanying Written Statement  below to establish which policies are still in use. Those policies not saved are scored through on the Written Statement pages below.
  • Following the adoption of the Havant Borough Core Strategy March 2011 many of the saved policies have been superseded. See list of Superseded Policies pdf 61 kb Acrobat Reader required
  • Those saved policies that have been retained and operating simultaneously with the adopted Core Strategy policies until replaced by the Development Delivery (Allocations) Plan policies can be viewed here: List of policies working in tandem pdf 57kb Acrobat Reader required

Adopted Local Plan cover
The policies from the old  HBDWLP that have not been saved for continued use are still visible but are now scored through as shown here. These policies will no longer feature in considering planning proposals but in most cases their content will be covered by LDF adopted documents or national planning guidance.
