Havant Bus Station Redevelopment
Work has been completed and the new bus station for Havant is
now open ...
Hampshire County and Havant Borough
Councils have redeveloped the bus station for Havant.
Why?
We want to encourage more people to
use bus services by:
- Improving bus passenger facilities
- Improving bus operation capacity and efficiency
How?
- We built a new 2 storey bus station building including enclosed
waiting area and shelter, toilet facilities, information point,
refreshment shop and 'real time' bus departure information
display
- During the construction phase, bus stops were relocated to
Market Parade and North Street
- We reconstructed the bus turning area with
seven operational bays and a coach stop, plus three
'layover' bays
- The new station, which includes a control room and bus drivers'
rest area, meant that the former enquiry office in Market Parade,
remote from the terminus, was able to be closed
When?
- Construction of the new station building and bus area started
in August 2005 and was completed on 23rd August
2006
