Two roundabouts at ASDA Hulbert Road and Hambledon Road / Milton
Road were equipped with watering systems to enable
planting on the roundabouts to be watered safely by staff. (The
Council now has a dedicated bedding team who deal with roundabouts
and baskets. The Council receives sponsorship money for these.
The Council are interested in receiving enquiries for future
sponsorship of other roundabouts. If you are a business interested
in sponsoring flower displays on roundabouts in the Borough please
contact Freda Devonshire on 02392446256.
Some Liveability revenue funding was also put towards a project
to upgrade a roundabout at Hayling Island Beachlands. The
roundabout has special significance to a local group of people who
set up a twinning association and have twinned Hayling Island with
Gorron in France. They have officially named the roundabout the
Gorron Roundabout and a new planter was put in to commemorate their
twinning.
