The main plaza area was completed for summer 2007. The plaza creates a new pedestrian viewing platform over the sea with stone seating and a two metre high Portland Stone sundial and carved stone markings with the hours of the day, a compass and sights of interest out to sea.

An artist designed kaleidoscope gives a fun and colourful impression of the seaside.

Phase Two

The Liveability Strategic Board decided in Spring 2008 not to progress with phase two for Eastoke Corner. The remaining budget is not enough to complete the highways enhancements to the desired standard therefore it was decided to keep the fund to apply for additional match funding for future enhancement works, possibly through the Hayling Seafront Masterplan.
