Details:
The Borough Council is supporting the development of a comprehensive network of rights of way and dedicated cycle facilities. The Borough is ideally suited to the development of walking and cycling infrastructure with a level coastal plain, modern roads, beautiful countryside and good interchange with railways. Important parts of the National Cycle Network - the South Coast Route NCN2, and the London Coastal Route NCN22 - meet in Havant. And of course, 10,000 steps a day means that for most people, you'll need to take no other exercise in order to keep fit!

Hampshire County Council has been working with residents and landowners to find out what people think about local rights of way and other access to the countryside and what should be done to improve them. The result is The Hampshire Countryside Access Plan, which consists of 7 local area plans and a countywide ‘Overview’ document. Each local plan identifies the main issues in a particular part of Hampshire and suggests what should be done to improve access to the countryside in that area. Havant falls with the 'Solent' and 'Forest of Bere' areas.
