Leigh Park Strategic Project

The Leigh Park Community Board asked us to improve on-street parking issues using Liveability Fund money, and supplied us with a list of 15 roads for investigation. The criteria for The Liveability Fund specifies improving the quality of public spaces and local environments, as set out in Living Places - Cleaner, Safer, Greener -ODPM October 2002. The Liveability Fund is “for everyone to have access to high quality public spaces that cater for the diverse needs of communities.” For this reason the focus will be on streetscape improvements in Leigh Park.
Following an initial analysis and assessment of each of the 15 sites, sketch designs for each were drawn up and taken into the community for public consultation. The results of the public consultation and site assessments were combined and the three top scores were the first sites selected for detailed design.
