Highway Authorities are responsible for
ensuring that the way the road network is used takes account of the
needs of all road users. As part of this role the council (working
on behalf of Hampshire County Council, the highway authority) will
from time to time develop Traffic Regulation Orders such as:
Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs)
are legal documents issued under the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 or - in the case of parking restrictions - the Road Traffic
Act 1991. They allow the Police (or, in the case of parking
regulations, the Council) to enforce the various regulations
introduced in the Order. The Traffic Management team, usually as a
result of input from local communities and/or the Police, develops
TRO
s to regulate
traffic movement and/or quality of life issues. More information
about the overall process is
available
on Hampshire County Council's web site (external link)
>>. If, after reading that information, you feel you
have grounds for suggesting a
TRO
, then your first step is to
contact our Customer Services team who will be able to discuss your
idea with you. You can contact them either
by email
>> or by telephone on
023 9244
6013. We will need to know whereabouts the problem
area is, and what the nature of the problem is.

Order, if you wish to register a comment please use our on-line
