This guide provides a simple explanation of the council's framework
 
The Core Strategy is a planning document which will set out the vision and spatial strategy for the borough and contains strategic sites which are essential to the delivery of the strategy

This document will identify sites for housing, retail, employment, recreation and other uses over the next 20 years
 
The statement sets out how and when you can get involved in planning decisions for your area
 
A sustainability appraisal is a process to consider the environmental, social and economic consequences of the Local Development Framework and its policies
 
The council is required produce a series of documents which support the preparation of the framework and ensure that the planning policies and proposals are founded on a robust and credible basis

A Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) expands upon and provides greater detail on the policies in a main planning document (Development Plan Document). They can provide greater detail on specific topics such as residential parking or provide detailed design guidance for a particular site such as Havant's Public Service Village
 
The Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) records progress made in preparing Local Development Framework documents and reviews the effects of existing policies in the LDF. It is a requirement that an AMR is published by 31 December each year
